Re:Paparazzi : Scandalous?

1. I disagree with the way celebrities are treated by the paparazzi. People oftentimes forget that privacy is important to others as well as their  safety. I feel that people forget what's important in life. Taking pictures of someone doing there  shopping is kind of dumb. There has to be a line drawn about how things work in this industry. Which pictures are important and how far you have to go to get it.
2. I feel that paparazzi  often overstep their boundaries. I feel that the line is drawn when they take pictures that can harm the person whether reputation wise or physically. Unless it is unlawful behaviour posting demeaning picture of others is not okay.
3. I feel that caring too much about celebrities lives is a waste of time. Therefore I feel that people posting personal news about celebrities is a waste of time and it hurts them at the same time. Sometimes I feel like people who care about these things must be crazy. If stalkers can get arrested shouldn't the people at home who follow them online be arrested to?  
4. In 2009 someone photographed a 13 year old girl changing at George Clooney's house.This is one of the grossest breaches of privacy I have ever heard of. Not only did they spy on his house they also took pictures of people changing. Honestly that is some creepy stuff. I think that George Clooney was definitely treated unfairly since the circumstances around this girl are very unclear.
5. I would feel creeped out and angry. In light of the recent information released about PRISM I feel that we are starting to lose our privacy online and in other places. Each person is entitled to their own privacy and no one should care about someone else's business unless it affects them. Seriously, who wants to know what I ate for breakfast.

1.     I honestly don't care about companies twitter accounts. They are usually run by a PR team that censors what is really happening. When I look at his twitter account I see a bunch of propaganda which is ridiculous. As much as I support our Church I am strongly against accounts like these. I seems to ruin the message. I feel like these words are worth more when a person is actually saying them instead of on an Internet screen.

2.  By having the leader of our church tweet is a unique experience. I feel  that  while his tweets are very religious he doesn’t really tweet about personal things. Looking at his tweets they are more one-liners about religion rather than the deeper answers we seek. I think that twitter is the wrong platform because it doesn’t allow arguments to develop properly and it is hard to cam a solid argument in 140 characters. 
3. No, not really. They however do have a website. However it is pretty terrible and it needs to be reworked. They also need someone to update it constantly with new information. However the groups inside our church do have Facebook groups about the information on meetings and upcoming events such as youth group or bible study.
4. The Church is very old-fashioned when it comes to the internet. They, like any company tries to keep from being controversial but no one really wants to read about boring tweets that don't have any substance. I feel like the church, like any other institution should try to establish its feet outside the internet rather than ry to elbow them in to a space dominated by disbelievers.

RE: Social Media The Good the Bad and the "Not so Private"

1. Yes I am a member of a social networking. I use it as a way to keep track of news and other things I am interested in. For example during the Boston bombing I heard about it through the website Reddit first.
2. No, I haven't. The information I use is outdated and it is already out there so I see no point in updating my privacy settings. I feel like if someone is determined enough they would be able to find out m information anyway.
3. I have definitely thought about people knowing my address or my whereabouts. However I feel that it is to easy to find out this information. Google searches as well as some smart programs can reveal your phone number then from that, your location. Little pieces that you leave behind can reveal much about you.
4. One of the things I don't post is my actual location. It may be a worthless attempt to try to hide my location but it makes me feel a little more protected. Another thing is my real address as well as my real age. I avoid my real age to get access to age restricted things such as m rated video games, etc.. I also do this in order to avoid  people judging me because of my age or finding out my real information rather than the false ones I have created.
5. We can definitely be more responsible users of social media in many ways. When creating an online account try not to link them all together. This may allow people to create a huge web of information around you based on pictures and videos post. If you even mess up on one of them people will be able to know. I think this is important because it just leaves you wide open when you are on vacation. If someone discovers your address they could break in to your house and you wouldn't even know.

RE: Hey! You can't wear that!

1. Abercrombie and Fitch and Micheal Jeffries are very against fat people wearing their clothing. I believe that this viewpoint is unique one. On one had there is the business perspective. Without releasing this information it is very clear that the popular clothing brands, are of course, for the popular kids. This means that people will buy them too fit in. In order o fit in they must be able to purchase the clothes which cases hem o slim down. I we stop and think,  we can see that Abercrombie and Fitch has pretty much forced a fat person to become skinny to buy  their clothes.  If they are able to do this, I don' think thy should sop. However there is the moral side. The side hat says what is good and bad. They are forcing kids to change what they look like in order to it in. This is highly immoral but it makes a lot of money. At the ed of the day you could choose respect or money.
2.This question is very unfair. It is equitable to treat someone differently? No it isn't. Is it okay to sell a product to someone it was designed for? How else would you sell a product. These clothes are aimed at popular kids but anyone can have them. It is just a question of how useful it actually would be to you.
3. It doesn't. I don't think it should affect our perception of beaut anyway. Its like a fashion show. To us mere mortals, those clothes look funny but to the designers they look amazing. For me beauty is a Chinese women brownish hair just a little shorter than me. For someone else i might be a all blonde. It all depends on preference and we each have our own bias of perfection but beauty, beauty is something universal.

RE: Twitter Trouble

1.     I believe that without further information, these tweets were unwarranted. However we can observe that she was tweeting in response to someone. It may have been a joke aimed at the person who she was responding to or in fact an actual attack on the teacher. However from the information given it seems that this was insult toward the teacher and these comments were inappropriate and it was correct to punish the students.

2. I believe that the school should’ve never acted on this information. I believe that students outside of school should not be monitored. This is a large breach of privacy. Students do not care about how their teachers act outside of school so should the students. My gr.8 teacher was a smoker. We knew but we didn’t care. What we saw was a great teacher and someone who cared deeply for us. Similarly it seemed like the student was a good student but didn’t like the teacher. The easy solution would be to remove the student from the class which did happen. The school should not have acted in any other way as it would be seen as a breach of privacy.
3. This is the point of twitter. A micro blog to talk about our feelings freely, unopposed by anyone else. The interne recently has been coming under attack by bills to try and breach our privacy. It is a mistake if teachers do end up breaching our privacy as well because it would only drive us to become more private. And then people would demand free access to this privacy and we would lose it. The voicing of one’s opinion should be allowed on this site but I believe that the conversations be cordial. I believe the school did act correctly by claiming it was cyber bullying but many would not realize this until after their mistake. After tis incident I believe people will be watcing over their shoulders for Big Brother. 

Re: IPhone Crazy or not?

1. I feel that I am the sort of person that requires top of the line electronics in certain areas. For instance I have always wanted the top things in gaming such as a Razer keyboard or the new xbox. However I don't really care about other things such as Ipod's or Blackberries. Those things are not as important to me because they don't have a massive difference. However gaming evolves so much on each generation being released. One of the main reasons why is the frame of time developers have. For instance the iphone 4s was released half a year before the iphone 5 and it's essentially the same thing. However Starcraft 2 was released 11 years after the original Starcraft.
2. I feel that apple is done. They will no longer have anything groundbreaking material left. The one major thing that makes me feel this way is Apple suing Samsung. This is a desperation move even if they had reasonable grounds to do so. I t shows that Apple is losing the ground that it made in the market because other companies are catching up. Also the recent failure that was Apple maps this  shows that without Steve Jobs as a leader Apple will fall. Just like Rome wasn't built in a day Apple wasn't either but both empires will face their end.
3. I feel that the Iphone is not going to change that much. They will continue updating the software and the processors etc. I don't think that they will be able to revolutionize the market again similar to the ipod touch screen or a smartphone.  I feel that if more freedom was given to the community to develop new apps, functions and to mod the device many more people would buy it. One example of this being successful is Minecraft. The developers use to have a little box at the bottom where you would place mods to run. This is smart because the developers understood that they couldn't think of everything and let the community decide what they want. In conclusion if Apple gave the community more control people would give more ideas to Apple to use.
